The SPEDN app is shutting down on March 31, 2026.
For almost seven years, SPEDN has shown millions of people how easy it is to spend digital assets with Flexa.
But with more and more businesses using Flexa to accept payments from any app, and with faster self-custody payments in apps like Base, it’s time to say good-bye to SPEDN.
What does this mean for you?
- The SPEDN app will stop working on March 31, at which point it will no longer support deposits or payments.
- Until then, you can continue to use SPEDN as you normally would.
- If you have any funds remaining in your SPEDN wallets after March 31, they will automatically transfer to your Flexa balance so that you can withdraw them to another wallet.
- Or, you can request to have your funds transferred from SPEDN immediately by visiting your Flexa balance and requesting a full withdrawal now. Please note that verification may be required.
What does this mean for Flexa?
Rest assured—Flexa isn’t going anywhere. We think 2026 will be our biggest year yet as crypto payments become even more mainstream.
Many of you have been using Flexa since SPEDN was first released in May 2019, and we’re forever grateful for your feedback and support. By shutting down SPEDN now, we can pour even more of our time and energy into building out the instant and fraud-proof crypto payments platform that merchants want and need.
As always, our team is here for you. If you have any more questions about how we’re planning to shut down SPEDN, please reach out or take a look at our FAQ in the Flexa Support Center.
We truly appreciate you joining us on this journey. Onward!
